1. Introduction

1.1. Speed Booking UK provides a driving test assistance and booking service designed to help learner drivers obtain a suitable practical driving test appointment.

1.2. Through our automated booking service, customers can provide their preferred driving test centre, date range, available times and any dates or times when they are unavailable.

1.3. Subject to the applicable legal and regulatory requirements, Speed Booking UK works with its technology and booking partner, Our (booking software provider), to process customer information and search for suitable appointments.

1.4. Where the service is legally authorised and the necessary requirements have been satisfied, the system may secure a suitable appointment automatically based on the preferences supplied by the customer.

1.5. Customers should understand that this is an appointment-finding and booking assistance service. We cannot guarantee that a suitable appointment will become available or that a particular date or time will be secured.

1.6. These terms explain how the service works, the fees payable, the responsibilities of the customer and the circumstances in which refunds may be available.

2. How the Service Works

2.1. The customer begins by contacting Speed Booking UK or completing the relevant online application form.

2.2. The customer will be asked to provide the information required to establish and operate their search, which may include:

  • Full legal name.
  • Driving licence number.
  • Theory test certificate number.
  • Theory test expiry date, where required.
  • Email address.
  • Mobile telephone number.
  • Full residential address and postcode.
  • Preferred driving test centre or centres.
  • Earliest acceptable test date.
  • Latest acceptable test date.
  • Preferred times of day.
  • Any dates or times when the customer is unavailable.
  • Details of any existing practical driving test booking.

2.3. The customer must ensure that all information supplied is accurate, complete and up to date.

2.4. Once the application has been reviewed, the customer will be asked to pay the initial £1 search and activation fee.

2.5. Following receipt of the £1 payment and confirmation that the application can proceed, the customer's details and preferences may be passed to Our (booking software provider) for processing, subject to the legal and regulatory conditions described in these terms.

2.6. The system will operate according to the preferences supplied by the customer. Where a suitable appointment becomes available and the relevant booking process is legally authorised, the system may secure the appointment without requesting further approval from the customer at that moment.

2.7. Speed Booking UK will be notified by Our (booking software provider) when a booking has been confirmed. We will then notify the customer as soon as reasonably practicable.

2.8. The customer should also receive confirmation through the relevant official DVSA booking process. Customers should check their confirmation carefully to ensure that the test centre, date and time are correct.

3. Customer Authorisation and Consent

3.1. By applying for the service, the customer confirms that they are the learner driver for whom the driving test is being sought, or that they are otherwise legally entitled to provide the relevant information and instructions.

3.2. The customer confirms that they have provided accurate information and have the legal right to provide any personal information or payment details submitted.

3.3. The customer acknowledges that the service may involve the processing and transmission of their information between Speed Booking UK and Our (booking software provider) for the purpose of delivering the service.

3.4. The customer understands that the booking process may result in a suitable appointment being secured automatically, without a further confirmation request at the precise moment the appointment becomes available.

3.5. The customer must therefore provide preferences that accurately reflect the dates, times and test centres they are genuinely willing and able to attend.

3.6. The customer acknowledges that an appointment secured within their submitted preferences may become their confirmed practical driving test appointment.

4. Customer Availability and Preferences

4.1. Customers must provide a realistic date range and specify the times at which they are available to take their driving test.

4.2. Customers may provide dates or times when they are unavailable. These exclusions must be supplied before the search is activated.

4.3. The customer is responsible for checking their availability before submitting their application.

4.4. The customer should not submit a date range or time preference unless they are genuinely prepared to attend a test booked within those parameters.

4.5. If a customer provides incorrect availability, fails to disclose an important commitment or changes their availability after activation, Speed Booking UK cannot guarantee that the search can be amended before an appointment is secured.

4.6. Any request to change preferences must be submitted through the official Speed Booking UK contact channels.

4.7. Customers should allow up to six working hours for requests to amend or remove an active search to be processed during our advertised operating hours, subject to the service arrangements confirmed with Our (booking software provider).

4.8. Our normal administrative operating hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, excluding public holidays unless otherwise stated.

4.9. A request to amend or remove a search is not confirmed until Speed Booking UK has acknowledged it. Customers should not assume that a search has stopped simply because they have sent a message.

5. Existing Driving Test Bookings

5.1. Customers must disclose whether they already have a practical driving test booked.

5.2. Where the service is legally permitted and technically supported, an existing appointment may be replaced or changed as part of the booking process.

5.3. Customers should understand that the system is intended to result in the customer having one active practical car test appointment at a time.

5.4. Customers must not attempt to conceal an existing appointment or provide misleading information about their current booking status as this will affect your booking.

5.5. Before any existing appointment is changed, cancelled or replaced, the relevant process must comply with the applicable DVSA rules and any restrictions relating to the customer's existing booking.

5.6. Speed Booking UK cannot guarantee that an existing appointment can be retained if a replacement appointment is secured through a legally authorised process.

5.7. The customer should not independently book another practical test while an active search is operating without first notifying Speed Booking UK.

6. Service Fees and Payment Structure

6.1. The total advertised price for the service is £263, subject to confirmation of the precise fee structure and any applicable DVSA fee changes.

6.2. The fee breakdown is:

FeeAmount
Initial search and activation fee£1
DVSA practical test booking fee£62 / £75 (Weekend / Bank Holiday)
Speed Booking UK administration fee£200
Total£263

6.3. The initial £1 fee is payable before the search is activated.

6.4. If no suitable appointment is secured, the £1 search and activation fee will be refunded in accordance with Section 7.

6.5. If a suitable appointment is successfully secured, the customer will receive a payment link for the outstanding balance of £262.

6.6. The outstanding balance comprises the applicable £62 DVSA booking fee and the £200 Speed Booking UK administration fee.

6.7. The £262 balance is not automatically charged under the standard payment arrangement. The customer will be sent a payment link following confirmation of the successful booking.

6.8. The customer is responsible for paying the outstanding balance within the period stated on the payment request.

6.9. The customer will be informed of any applicable changes to the advertised price before entering into the service agreement.

6.10. If the official DVSA fee changes, Speed Booking UK will review the advertised total and ensure that the customer is informed of the correct amount before payment is taken.

7. The £1 Search and Activation Fee

7.1. The £1 initial payment is used to confirm the customer's intention to proceed and initiate the search process.

7.2. The £1 fee is refundable if no suitable appointment is secured.

7.3. Where a suitable appointment is successfully secured within the customer's submitted preferences, the £1 fee forms part of the total £263 service price.

7.4. If the customer requests cancellation after the search has been activated but before a booking is secured, the refund position will be assessed in accordance with the customer's statutory cancellation rights and the service commencement arrangements agreed at checkout.

7.5. The £1 fee must not be described as non-refundable in circumstances where the customer has a statutory right to a refund.

7.6. The customer will be informed clearly before payment about the purpose of the £1 fee and when it may be refunded.

8. Payment of the DVSA Fee

8.1. The DVSA practical test fee may be paid using either a payment card belonging to the customer, or a payment card belonging to Speed Booking UK, where the relevant booking and payment arrangement permits this.

8.2. The payment method used will be confirmed as part of the application or booking process.

8.3. Where the customer's own payment card is used, the customer must ensure that the card is valid, has sufficient available funds and is authorised for the transaction.

8.4. Where Speed Booking UK's card is used, the DVSA fee will initially be paid by Speed Booking UK as part of the agreed booking process.

8.5. The applicable DVSA fee remains part of the customer's total £263 service price, unless a different arrangement is expressly agreed in writing.

8.6. The customer must not assume that the DVSA fee has been paid until the booking confirmation has been received.

8.7. Any additional DVSA charges or changes to the official booking fee must be explained to the customer before they become payable.

9. Payment Card Information and Authorisation

9.1. Where a customer chooses to provide their own payment card details, those details will only be collected and processed where necessary for the agreed payment arrangement.

9.2. Customers must only provide card information through a secure payment method approved by Speed Booking UK.

9.3. Customers should never send full card details, security codes or sensitive payment information through ordinary WhatsApp messages, email or other unsecured communication channels.

9.4. Where a customer's card is used for a booking, the customer must expressly authorise the relevant payment before it is processed.

9.5. Where Speed Booking UK's card is used, the customer remains responsible for the agreed service price, subject to the refund and cancellation provisions in these terms.

9.6. Any storage or reuse of payment card details must be separately explained to the customer and must comply with applicable payment security requirements.

9.7. A customer's card details will not be used for unrelated transactions or additional payments without the necessary authorisation.

9.8. Speed Booking UK will not treat the provision of card details as blanket permission to make unlimited or unspecified payments.

10. Successful Booking and Customer Notification

10.1. A booking will be treated as successful once the relevant official booking process confirms that the practical driving test appointment has been secured.

10.2. Our (booking software provider) will notify Speed Booking UK when a booking has been confirmed.

10.3. Speed Booking UK will then notify the customer as soon as reasonably practicable.

10.4. The customer should receive the relevant official confirmation and must check that their personal details, test centre, date and time are correct.

10.5. Customers should retain their DVSA confirmation and any payment receipts.

10.6. Once an appointment has been secured, the customer must take responsibility for preparing for and attending the test.

10.7. Customers should not assume that Speed Booking UK can subsequently change or cancel the appointment on their behalf. Any subsequent changes must be made through the appropriate official DVSA process by the person legally entitled to manage the booking.

11. Customer Responsibilities

By using the service, the customer agrees to:

  • 11.1. Provide accurate and genuine personal information.
  • 11.2. Ensure that their driving licence and theory test details are valid and correct.
  • 11.3. Provide realistic availability and date preferences.
  • 11.4. Disclose any existing practical driving test booking.
  • 11.5. Notify Speed Booking UK immediately if they: no longer require the service; have booked a test independently; have booked a test through another company or service; have passed their driving test; become unavailable during their submitted date range; need to change their preferred test centre or availability; or have any other circumstances that may affect their search.
  • 11.6. Not knowingly provide false, misleading or incomplete information.
  • 11.7. Respond to reasonable requests for additional information.
  • 11.8. Check their booking confirmation and ensure they understand their confirmed appointment details.
  • 11.9. Pay the outstanding balance following a successful booking, subject to their statutory rights and these terms.
  • 11.10. Follow all applicable DVSA rules and requirements.

12. Changes, Cancellations and Removal of a Search

12.1. Customers may request an amendment or cancellation of their active search by contacting Speed Booking UK through its official contact channels.

12.2. Requests should include the customer's full name, contact number and any relevant booking reference.

12.3. Our administrative team will aim to process requests within six working hours during normal operating hours.

12.4. Requests received outside normal operating hours may be processed on the next working day.

12.5. A request is not complete until the customer receives confirmation that the relevant change or removal has been processed.

12.6. Customers must notify Speed Booking UK as early as possible if they no longer require a search.

12.7. If a suitable appointment is secured before a cancellation or amendment request has been processed, the booking and payment position will be assessed in accordance with the circumstances, the agreed service and the customer's statutory rights.

12.8. Nothing in this section removes or restricts any rights the customer may have under applicable consumer law.

13. Refunds

13.1. If no suitable appointment is secured, the initial £1 search and activation fee will be refunded.

13.2. If a suitable appointment is successfully secured, the customer will be asked to pay the outstanding £262 balance.

13.3. If the customer believes that a booking has been secured incorrectly, they should contact Speed Booking UK immediately with the relevant confirmation and details.

13.4. Refund requests will be considered individually, taking into account:

  • Whether a booking was successfully secured.
  • Whether the appointment matched the customer's submitted preferences.
  • Whether the service was delivered as agreed.
  • Whether the customer provided accurate information.
  • Whether the customer requested cancellation or changes before or after the booking.
  • Any applicable statutory consumer rights.

13.5. Where a refund is due, Speed Booking UK will arrange it using the original payment method where reasonably possible.

13.6. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or removes the customer's statutory rights.

13.7. Speed Booking UK will not refuse a refund solely because an appointment was secured where the service was not delivered with reasonable care and skill or where the customer otherwise has a legal entitlement to a refund.

14. Customer Cancellation Rights

14.1. Customers purchasing the service online or remotely may have statutory cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

14.2. Where applicable, customers may have a 14-day cancellation period beginning from the date the contract is entered into.

14.3. If the customer wants the service to begin during this cancellation period, they may be asked to provide an express request for early commencement.

14.4. The customer will be given clear information about the consequences of requesting early commencement, including any lawful payment obligations if they subsequently cancel after work has begun.

14.5. Where the service has been fully performed during the cancellation period, the customer's cancellation rights may be affected only where the relevant legal requirements have been satisfied, including the necessary express consent and acknowledgement.

14.6. These provisions will be reflected in the checkout process and any required consent statements.

14.7. No pre-ticked boxes or misleading checkout wording will be used to obtain consent.

15. No Guarantee of a Particular Appointment

15.1. Speed Booking UK cannot guarantee that a suitable driving test appointment will become available.

15.2. The service is dependent on appointment availability, the customer's preferences, the relevant booking system and applicable regulatory requirements.

15.3. We cannot guarantee a particular date, time or test centre unless that appointment has actually been confirmed.

15.4. Customers should not make travel arrangements or other commitments on the assumption that an appointment has been secured until official confirmation has been received.

15.5. Speed Booking UK is not responsible for the customer's failure to attend a confirmed appointment where the relevant booking details were correctly provided and communicated, subject to applicable law.

16. Limitation of Liability

16.1. Speed Booking UK will provide its services with reasonable care and skill.

16.2. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability.

16.4. Speed Booking UK will not be responsible for losses caused by inaccurate information supplied by the customer, provided that this does not exclude any liability that legally remains with Speed Booking UK.

16.5. Speed Booking UK is not responsible for decisions made independently by the DVSA, including changes to its rules, appointment availability or the operation of its official booking service.

16.6. Nothing in this agreement is intended to remove the customer's statutory rights or the customer's right to seek an appropriate remedy where the service has not been provided as agreed.
