Speed Booking Driving School
Driving Instructor Platform & Lead Terms
Last Updated: August 2026
1. About the Platform
Speed Booking operates a learner acquisition and instructor comparison platform designed to connect learners with independent driving instructors and driving schools.
Our objective is to provide instructors with qualified prospective learners while allowing instructors to retain control of their own businesses.
Speed Booking does not employ instructors merely because they are listed on the platform.
2. Instructor Independence
Participating instructors remain responsible for:
- Setting their lesson prices
- Managing their availability
- Providing tuition
- Managing their diary
- Collecting lesson payments
- Their vehicle
- Insurance and regulatory requirements
- Driving licence checks
- Lesson cancellation policies
- Test-day vehicle decisions
- Their own tax and business obligations
Unless separately agreed in writing, joining the platform does not create an employment relationship, partnership or agency relationship between Speed Booking and the instructor.
3. Instructor Profile
Instructors may provide information including:
- Name/business name
- Areas covered
- Manual/automatic tuition
- Lesson rates
- Test-day car hire prices
- Availability
- Vehicle information
- Experience
- Specialisms
- Profile photographs
- Other relevant business information
The instructor confirms that information supplied to Speed Booking is accurate and must notify us when material information changes.
4. What Counts as a Chargeable Lead?
An instructor is charged only where the applicable agreed criteria for a qualified introduction are met.
A chargeable lead may include a learner who:
- A. Requests contact from that instructor through the platform;
- B. Requests/book a first lesson with that instructor through the platform; or
- C. Is manually matched to the instructor by the Speed Booking administration team and the instructor accepts the introduction.
We do not intend to charge instructors merely because somebody viewed their profile. The applicable price per lead or connection will be disclosed to the instructor before or as part of onboarding and may vary according to the service or lead type.
5. Learner Deposits
Speed Booking may collect a payment or deposit from a learner before introducing them to an instructor. This helps demonstrate genuine booking intent.
Where any amount collected is intended to be passed to the instructor or credited towards a learner's first lesson, the applicable arrangement will be communicated to the parties.
6. Lead Fees
The instructor agrees to pay the applicable fee for qualified leads supplied under the agreed pricing structure.
There is no monthly subscription solely for receiving standard pay-per-lead introductions, unless the instructor separately purchases another Speed Booking service.
Once the applicable connection fee has been paid, Speed Booking does not charge ongoing commission on that learner's future lessons unless separately agreed. The instructor may therefore continue teaching that learner directly.
7. Automatic Billing
Where the instructor expressly agrees during onboarding to automatic billing, Speed Booking may collect accrued lead fees using the instructor's authorised payment method at the agreed billing interval.
The instructor will be able to identify the leads to which the charge relates through the applicable records, statement, dashboard or invoice.
Speed Booking should not rely merely on the existence of these Terms as consent to card charging. Your onboarding/Stripe flow should separately and prominently obtain the instructor's authorisation for recurring or off-session charges.
8. Lead Limits
Instructors may tell Speed Booking how many new learners they currently wish to receive. For example:
2 learners needed → profile remains active until capacity is reached.
Once the instructor is full, they may request that their profile is paused. The instructor should keep availability reasonably current to avoid receiving learners they cannot accommodate.
9. Instructor Responsibility After Receiving a Lead
Speed Booking places significant importance on response times. Once an instructor receives a qualified learner, they should make reasonable efforts to contact them promptly by:
- Telephone
- SMS
Where possible, we recommend initial contact on the same day. The objective should be to arrange the learner's first lesson as quickly as reasonably possible.
10. Unable to Contact a Learner
If an instructor has made reasonable attempts to contact a learner but receives no response, they should notify the Speed Booking administration team.

We may then attempt to contact the learner ourselves. Any lead-credit/refund policy for genuinely unreachable or materially inaccurate leads should be stated separately and applied consistently.
11. Instructor Professional Standards
Instructors using the platform agree to conduct themselves professionally. This includes:
- Attending agreed lessons
- Communicating changes promptly
- Maintaining appropriate insurance and legal/regulatory requirements
- Providing accurate pricing
- Treating learners appropriately
- Not misleading learners about Speed Booking
- Keeping appointments reasonably agreed with learners
12. Driving Tests & Test-Day Car Hire
Where an instructor agrees to provide their vehicle for a learner's driving test, that arrangement is between the instructor and learner. The instructor remains responsible for deciding whether the learner is sufficiently competent to use their vehicle.
If an instructor needs to withdraw from an agreed test-day arrangement, they should notify the learner as soon as reasonably possible.
Speed Booking is not responsible for losses caused solely by an instructor's failure to attend or provide an independently contracted lesson/test-car service, although we may assist the learner and review whether the instructor should remain on our platform.
A disproportionate contractual penalty can itself cause enforceability problems. A better first-stage remedy is suspension/removal, refunding/crediting affected platform fees where appropriate, and reserving rights to recover proven direct losses where legally recoverable. (GOV.UK)
13. Complaints
Where a learner raises a complaint concerning an instructor, Speed Booking may contact the instructor to investigate. Serious or repeated complaints may result in:
- Temporary profile suspension
- Reduced lead allocation
- Permanent removal from the platform
Where appropriate, the instructor will be given an opportunity to explain what happened.
14. Reviews
Learners may be invited to review their experience. Speed Booking may use genuine learner feedback to help assess instructor quality and, where appropriate, display ratings or feedback on instructor profiles.
15. No Guarantee of Lead Volume
Speed Booking does not guarantee any minimum number of learners, enquiries, bookings, lesson hours or income. Lead volume will naturally depend upon factors including location, learner demand, instructor availability, pricing, profile quality and marketing performance.
16. Future Learners & Referrals
Unless separately agreed, once a learner has been successfully introduced and the relevant connection fee paid, that learner may continue dealing directly with the instructor. Speed Booking does not charge commission on every future lesson.
If that learner later personally refers friends or family directly to the instructor without using Speed Booking, no additional Speed Booking lead fee applies.
17. Pausing or Leaving the Platform
An instructor may ask Speed Booking to pause their profile when they are no longer seeking learners. Outstanding valid lead charges accrued before the pause remain payable.
Speed Booking may suspend or remove profiles for serious or repeated breaches of these Terms, fraudulent activity, regulatory concerns, material learner complaints or conduct that could reasonably harm learners or the platform.
18. Changes to Pricing
Speed Booking may introduce new pricing structures in the future. However, instructors should be given appropriate notice before materially different charges apply, rather than allowing Speed Booking an unrestricted ability to retrospectively change prices. Clear upfront pricing is considerably safer contractually. (GOV.UK)
19. Booking Software
Speed Booking may separately offer instructors booking and diary-management software. Use of that product is subject to separate Speed Booking Software Terms & Conditions and is not automatically included simply because an instructor joins the comparison platform.
20. Contact
Questions concerning learner connections, lead charges or instructor accounts can be raised with the Speed Booking team.
