1. About Speed Booking

Speed Booking UK Ltd ("Speed Booking", "we", "us", "our") provides a driving instructor search, comparison and connection service.

Our service helps learners find and connect with independent driving instructors and/or third-party driving schools based on information including location, transmission preference, availability, lesson requirements and, where applicable, an existing practical driving test booking.

Speed Booking may introduce learners through our comparison platform, website, advertising campaigns, WhatsApp service, telephone service or manually through a member of our team.

2. Speed Booking Is a Connection Service

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Speed Booking is not the provider of the driving lessons purchased from an instructor.

Our service is completed by searching for, identifying and/or introducing the learner to a suitable driving instructor.

Once an introduction has been completed, the driving instructor becomes the learner's primary point of contact for matters including:

• Lesson dates and times
• Lesson payments
• Collection and drop-off arrangements
• Driving licence checks
• Lesson cancellations or rearrangements
• Driving test preparation
• Test-day vehicle hire
• Assessment of the learner's driving standard
• Future lesson packages

The learner and instructor are responsible for agreeing their ongoing arrangements directly.

3. Connection/Admin Fee

Speed Booking may charge the learner a one-time connection or administration fee.

The amount payable will be clearly displayed or communicated before payment is made.

This fee is paid to Speed Booking for providing the instructor search and connection service. It is separate from lesson fees, test-day vehicle hire or other amounts payable directly to the instructor unless expressly stated otherwise.

There are no recurring Speed Booking connection fees for continuing to use the same instructor.

4. Instructor Information

Before payment, wherever reasonably possible, Speed Booking will provide sufficient information for the learner to make an informed decision, which may include:

• Instructor name
• Manual or automatic tuition
• Approximate availability
• Hourly lesson rate
• Areas covered
• Relevant specialisms
• Test-day car hire availability and pricing

Instructor availability operates in a live market and can change quickly. An instructor being available when initially contacted does not necessarily guarantee that a particular lesson slot will remain available indefinitely.

5. After Payment

Once the connection has been confirmed, Speed Booking will normally provide the learner with the instructor's contact details and/or provide the learner's details directly to the instructor.

The instructor should then contact the learner to arrange the first lesson. Learners are encouraged to respond promptly because instructor availability may change.

6. Instructor Standards

Speed Booking takes reasonable steps to verify instructors before admitting them to our network or platform. Where applicable, we may check information concerning an instructor's identity, driving instructor status, areas covered, vehicle/transmission and other information relevant to the service.

However, instructors operate independently, and Speed Booking does not control the day-to-day delivery of their tuition.

7. Problems With an Instructor

If an instructor materially differs from the information provided to the learner, fails to make contact, is unable to provide the agreed service, or there is another genuine problem with the introduction, the learner should contact Speed Booking as soon as reasonably possible.

Where appropriate, our first solution will normally be to find a replacement instructor at no additional Speed Booking connection fee.

Nothing within these Terms affects a consumer's statutory rights.

8. Refunds & Cancellation Rights

The connection fee relates specifically to Speed Booking's search and introduction service. Where the learner asks Speed Booking to begin providing that service immediately, Speed Booking may begin searching for and contacting instructors before the expiry of any statutory cancellation period.

Where required by law, the learner will be asked at checkout to expressly request that the service begins immediately and acknowledge the consequences for their cancellation rights once the connection service has been fully performed.

Refund requests will be considered in accordance with applicable consumer law and the extent to which Speed Booking has already performed the purchased service.

A blanket term stating that a consumer can never receive a refund can be unfair under UK consumer law, so these provisions do not restrict any statutory cancellation, refund or other rights that legally apply. (GOV.UK)

9. Driving Lessons & Instructor Payments

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Speed Booking does not collect payment for subsequent driving lessons.

After the connection:

• Learner → pays instructor for lessons
• Instructor → provides driving tuition
• Speed Booking → has provided the connection service

Any lesson packages, cancellations, refunds, rescheduling arrangements or other lesson-specific agreements should therefore be confirmed directly with the instructor.

10. Driving Test Car Hire

Where a learner requires use of an instructor's vehicle for a practical driving test, the final decision on whether the vehicle can be used remains with the instructor.

An instructor may reasonably require the learner to complete an assessment or lessons before agreeing to provide their vehicle for a practical test.

Speed Booking cannot guarantee that an instructor will permit use of their vehicle if the instructor subsequently considers the learner unsafe or insufficiently prepared to drive it on test.

11. Missed Lessons or Test-Day Problems

If an instructor fails to attend a lesson or agreed driving test arrangement, the learner should contact the instructor immediately and notify Speed Booking.

Where the underlying lesson or test-car service was contracted directly with the instructor, any claim concerning the instructor's failure to provide that service will ordinarily need to be addressed with the instructor.

However, Speed Booking will reasonably assist the learner and may investigate the instructor's continued suitability for our network.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Consumer terms attempting to exclude responsibility too broadly can themselves be unenforceable. (GOV.UK)

12. Learner Information

Learners are responsible for providing accurate information, including their:

• Name
• Contact details
• Postcode
• Transmission requirement
• Experience level
• Driving test centre
• Driving test date/time
• Lesson requirements

Incorrect information may prevent us from making an appropriate match.

13. No Guarantee of Passing

Neither Speed Booking nor inclusion of an instructor on our platform guarantees that a learner will pass their practical driving test.

Driving test outcomes depend on numerous factors, including the learner's ability and performance on the day.
